Microbial Well Unblocking and Viscosity Reduction Agent (MEOR-U)

Microbial agent for wellbore and near-wellbore organic blockage: Pseudomonas sp., Rhodococcus sp. and Bacillus subtilis degrade heavy fractions and suppress wax re-deposition. Viable count, dosing and field parameters from the manufacturer.

This microbial agent clears organic blockage in the wellbore and near-wellbore zone and reduces crude viscosity at the same time. Rhodococcus sp. and Pseudomonas sp. oxidise and crack long-chain alkanes and resins, while the paired Pseudomonas-Bacillus system produces biosurfactants that lift broth surface tension reduction below 38 mN/m, so loosened scale and wax crystals travel out with the produced fluid. The cells keep colonising the near-wellbore zone and suppress wax re-deposition, which is why one treatment covers both unblocking and paraffin control. Typical treatment is a 1% slug with a 96-hour soak.

Applications

  • High-water-cut wells with declining liquid production or rising rod load
  • Paraffin and organic scale control in the wellbore
  • Viscosity reduction and stimulation of heavy crude wells
  • Restoring productivity after organic plugging near the perforations
